I’ve just uploaded more pics to our picture gallery on |Jodi|’s site. Check ‘em out.

Well, |Jodi| has the happy news… we’ve found our (Lord-willing) daughter-to-be!!
She’s absolutely beautiful, and has a smile to warm, or break, your heart. She’s also deaf. She has yet to speak a word to us, but we love her just the same. Her name is Adelina - a name as lovely as she is, and we’re keeping it.
*blissful sigh*
Hi all, from our flat in Kiev, Ukraine! Our flat is right about the middle of this map, on Zhytomers’ka. We’re about a 15 min. walk to the main Independence Square downtown.
But I’m not here to chit-chat about our flat. To ge the real scoop on progress on the adoption, check out |Jodi|’s blog. She has been faithfully posting for the 50 weeks of preparation for this trip, as well as the journey itself.
It has been an incredible journey so far. We have not yet “found” our children (read up on the process to understand what that really means) but we are going tomorrow for our third appointment and are hopeful and trusting that God is in control.
Go on now, check out Speaks Her Mind, and get the skinny!
Well, I’ve been pretty quiet lately, especially given the momentous process |Jodi| and I are in the middle of. It’s now T-2 days until Jodi and I get on a plane bound for London, then to Kiev, Ukraine, to find and adopt our first child! Remarkably, I’m not stressed too much. If you’ve not been following along, have a browse through Jodi’s Adoption Week-by-week posts to catch up. This has been a crazy year, but we have been surrounded by friends and family who have been simply amazing - the level of emotional, spiritual, and financial support has blown us away. Our child will be brought into an environment that is primed and ready for him/her! God is so good!
Thanks to everyone who has been supporting us in every way. We love you guys.

Wooooooooooooooooooo!!
Once again, |Jodi| beat me to the punch… our dossier was successfully submitted to the National Adoption Center in Kyiv! Thanks to everyone who supported us during this frustrating and trying time! But God came through and we on our way to… more waiting. But this is the waiting we expected, as opposed to the waiting we didn’t expect! :-)
Thanks for hanging in there with us!
|Jodi| just posted a great summary of current events and call to prayer for all of our believing friends and family. Fighting On Our Knees is a look into the arbitrary workings of the Ukrainian bureaucracy, and the seeming randomness affecting our adoption process. Please join us in prayer!
While I’m at it… this process has been tough. No one promised it wouldn’t be, but nevertheless it’s emotionally, spiritually, and even physically taxing. We have to keep reminding ourselves that God is in control, that he has plan for our lives that is good, as he is good, and that we can put our hope in him. It’s a daily meditation on who God is and who we are - through our adoption process we are learning how to live life one day at a time. Just like we did during 18 months of unemployment. Sometimes we learn lessons in cycles.
As |Jodi| says in her own wonderful way:
Hoop-jumping at its most spectacular.
|Jodi| shares the good news!
