    YOu might tell someone WHY this is art and not play. Water color, texture, composition, impact, rythum, etc. Or else it could be ANY 5 year-old playing.

    Well, mostly, it is just the playing of a 5-year old, and I’m just bragging on her. But I also find that she has an amazing, if unconscious, eye for color combinations - she doesn’t go for the bright red-blue-yellow primaries that a lot of kids seem to gravitate to. She’s just using a standard kids 8-color watercolor set, and she uses a lot of black, a lot of blues and yellow-greens, purples.

    Anyway, I probably just a proud dad deluding myself, but I wish I could frame these watercolor samples - as an artist I think they’re amazing.
