Things I Want: OS X Terminal Edition

Quick idea for an OS X app/hack: How about something that would let me embed a terminal window in a splitview in any OS X application window? Then I could attach a terminal to, say, a Safari window where I have reference materials loaded up, or to the TextEdit document where I’m documenting some process.

hey steve how are you? james governor from the other redmonk here.

I hope this message finds you well.

I must admit, I am fishing. I decided to try out MSN Search today, and I see that you have top rank for "redmonk".

Although we're better off in google, it did make me wonder...

Given that your site is called monkinetic, and not redmonk any more, i wonder if you have ever given any thought to hosting on www.monkinetic.com?

when we last spoke a couple of years ago i think we agreed there was not much overlap in terms of what we do. you were just rebranding. however it seems like there has been some convergence. its hard to avoid overlaps given the interests in XML, open source and so on.

anyhow - with respect to my question concerning your url, i had a sniff around this morning, and noticed that monkinetic.com and monkinetic.net were both available. I have therefore taken the liberty of purchasing these domains on your behalf- .com for three years, and .net for one.

You may not be in the least bit interested in redirecting at all, and i would fully understand it.

If you did decide to move to monkinetic however i would obviously be hugely grateful. Of course you can have the URL for free. I would certainly not expect you to immediately give up the redmonk.net real estate. I would expect you to put up a redirect page, or equivalent, to ensure your regular audience wasn't confused.

that is - i am not in a major hurry to take on redmonk.net, but it would be great to move the metadata associated with the linkrank to monkinetic.
