I don’t care if the name “Rendezvous” was patented or trademarked or protected by whatever-the-hell lawyerly evil could be done, I will never call it Bonjour.
Update: I wasn’t the only one saying wha?.
Update: JDD is not a fan either, nor Erik.

Oh man, that is a horrible name!
I don't get it. Why is Bonjour worse than Rendezvous? Neither tells you what the service does, but once you know what it does they're equally clever and descriptive.
At least Bonjour is shorter. :-)
I like it, personally. Certainly better than zero-conf. Blech.
Yes, but 1) "Rendezvous" actually means "a meeting" and is *used* in English, and 2) it sounds catchy and is easy to say. There are too many ways to butcher the prounciation of "Bonjour" for it to catch on IMO.
At one point I thought the idea was to rename it OpenNet. That would have been prefereable to "bonjour", even if it's a tad generic.
Why is Bonjour worse than Rendezvous? Well, it's just my opinon of course, but Rendezvous sounds cool (to me) and Bonjour does not. I think I'd even prefer ZeroConf...
As for OpenNet, what about InstantNet?
on a related note, I will always use Hydra and not SubEthaEdit
