Virtual Hell

Saturday, November 30th, 2002

I’m installing Windows 98 2nd Edition on Virtual PC on my TiBook right now… I feel so dirty.

Why, you ask? I’ve been working on web site designs for some clients that are on PCs, and they’re seeing some bugs that I don’t. So, I need to see what they see. Bleagchh.

Hehe. /. brings news of an incredibly well-done model of the USS Enterprise D (ST:TNG) built out of LEGO. This is awesome. I mean, wow. Bravo!

Danger Will Robinson!

Friday, November 29th, 2002

Jodi and I were out at Chandler Fashion Center tonight, hanging at the Apple Store Thanksgiving Event (”Come on baby, mommy needs a brand new iMac!”) and we stopped at the T-Mobile store to look at the Danger HipTop (Sidekick).

That is one slick device. It’s $200, and the unlimited data + some phone time service plan is only $39/mo. If it weren’t for that pesky unemployed thing…

Seriously, it got me thinking about doing a browser-detected version of this weblog for Danger devices - black and white, single column. I tried out the browser there in the store, and it’s pretty good.

FTX Interface

Wednesday, November 27th, 2002

Web, Graphic Design: “>” align=”right” border=”0″>While with Compass Technology Management, I led a web team in the design and development of a web interface for a large enterprise application. FTX is a web application that interfaces with Compass’ Intellisafe product.

I worked with the team and with Compass analysts and industry experts to define the workflow process involved, then designed the first several iterations of the web interface, including all branding and functional screens.
